Giving up before Naveen-Omarzai
Ireland’s chase of the 156-run goal got off to a very poor start. Andy Balbirnie was knocked out clean by Naveen Ul Haq (9). Ireland’s run of wickets began at this point, and they all fell within a hundred runs. Naveen bowled Lorcan Tucker clean on the very next ball.
Ireland’s captain, Paul Stirling (4), was bowled by Fazalhaq Farooqui, dealing them their third blow. Throughout the innings, the Irish squad was unable to bounce back from these losses. Harry Tector (16), Curtis Kanfer (28), and Gareth Delany (21) were the only three batsmen who could score in double digits.
Azmatullah Omarzai took four wickets for nine runs in four overs for Afghanistan. Clint Harpleton claimed three wickets. Each of Nangeyalia Kharote, Rashid Khan, and Fazalhaq Farooqui had one triumph.

Zadran made a solid fifty-five
Ireland had earlier lost seven wickets in 20 overs but managed to score 155 runs. Afghanistan was the first to bat and had a poor start as well. Eder exposed Rahmanullah Gurbaz (6) to Tector’s deception. Then Ibrahim Zadran arrived at the crease, holding one end, but the other end did not provide adequate support.
Following this, Ijaz Ahmed Ahmedzai (10), Rashid Khan (3), and Mohammad Nabi (6) made a hasty return to the pavilion. With the help of five fours and three sixes, Ibrahim Zadran amassed an undefeated 72 runs in 51 balls, leading Afghanistan to a decent total. Ireland’s six bowlers each claimed one wicket.
